It's been 5 months since I haven't been posting a new blog post which is a shame since I just updated a new layout. There are so many things that are happening in my life right now. Bad and good. Few of them where bad since June 2012. I was feeling very uninspired, stressed and doing a lot of decision making which is really stressful. I decided to go back to makeup/beauty blogging despite how busy I am because I would not want to leave my love for makeup artistry behind. I would also love to meet other pro/freelance/aspiring makeup artist or just to name a few. I would love to meet new friends and share to them my experiences and my love for skin care and beauty.
I have been concentrating on cosplay costume commissions lately. Making costumes was just a part of me that wants to earn from what I love to do and so does makeup art. And now, I would love to start off on how I do my everyday makeup.
First, after I wash my face with a facial cleanser, I then put on my moisturizer on my face and I need to make sure that it has SPF/PA++ in it since the weather right now is very hot. I put on a separate facial sunscreen with SPF 35+ but sometimes it feels a bit heavy on my face.
For my base - I use Missha Perfect Cover B.B Cream on No. 23 after I put on my moisturizer. As you can see, it has SPF 42 / PA +++, which means there's no need on putting more sunscreen on my face. I shall discuss more about SPF and PA +++ on a separate post but I tell you, it is important to have your face protected from the harmful UV rays from the sun everyday. >_<
Anyway, what I love about BB Cream is that it is not heavy on my face. Compared to using a liquid foundation everyday, it tends to cake especially during a hot weather, which is not advisable. (Unless if you have a special event then liquid foundation is good if you know how to apply it.) BB creams are known to have a light-medium coverage while liquid foundations have medium-full face coverage, prefect for everyday use.
As for my concealer - I use MAC Select Cover Up on NW25. I apply these on my under eye circles and blemishes. I was told that NW25 shade is used for my under eye circles since it has a different color from the rest of my face and you use a different MAC concealer for your blemishes. It's true however, I'm just here to share to you how I do my everyday makeup. And using this concealer for my blemishes works for me. Anyway~ I apply concealer under my eyes, blemishes, the sides of my nose to cover up redness, sides of my lips and pimples if I have one. Then I blend-tap them using a beauty sponge.
For my powder - I set everything with MAC Studio Fix powder foundation on NC35. I don't know about you guys but I really LOVE this powder foundation. You don't really have to put a whole lot of it because it would cover all your blemishes with little application. <3 Sometimes I use the sponge that comes with it, sometimes I use my fluffy powder foundation brush. MAC Studio Fix are designed for people with oily skin just like me but I do not use this for touch ups as it gets to be heavier each time I use this for touch ups. What I use for everyday makeup touch ups is this:
I heard that this face powder from Benefit in Georgia. This product is said to be discontinued however, I bought this one at an imported fashion store inside Cebu Doctors' University (Canteen 2) while having a makeup gig not too long ago. It does look like an orange type blush on but trust me, looks can be deceiving. I bought this without even testing it and wow, I love it. Certain reviews online indicated that it doesn't really do a bit of coverage in your face which is true for me. That's why it's perfect for touch ups and setting powder. It stays all day too!
Then I finish off with liquid eyeliner - Miss Beauty Liquid Eyeliner. Now some of you may discriminate "cheap" China makeup but if you know how to choose them wisely then you will realize that some of them may not be as bad as it seems. (But I highly discourage my friends not to buy liquid foundations from China brands, pimples will pop out everywhere in your face!)
This baby right here cost me only 29PHP. I bought this at Gaisano Colon. It has a very cute packaging and believe me, it stays long from the moment you applied it to your upper eye lids until you wash your face at night. It's actually really rare to find this kind of eyeliner because most of China cosmetic brands never really lasts long. It also has a very thin applicator which is really easy to draw different eyeliner looks. <3 (Especially during cosplay photoshoots and events.)
For my brows - I only groom them by brushing them with a brow brush. Sometimes I go for fuller looking brows with the use of eyebrow pencils/powder and set them with a brow set but I want to go to school everyday looking fresh and clean and I don't have time to do that since I'm always rushing to go to school everyday.
Please excuse them vain shots. >_< Finish your look by wearing your favorite light colored lipstick, combing your hair and fixing anything that needs to be fixed. I also would love to go out wearing my shades since it's very hot outside. *O*
No makeup makeup look. It's as if you almost have a bare looking face but having a decent look while going out to school or work would not hurt. <3 I don't usually do my makeup everyday but most of the time I do. The only times that I do not apply makeup on is when I'm running errands for costume commissions or going to colon to buy stuff. I will be posting blog posts every now and then since I wanted to make this a habit. The last few months when I was feeling down and drained, now I wanted to start fresh and inspired.
For those who are not aware what FOTD means, it means Face of the Day. xD Thank you so much for reading my blog post. Please do tell me what other looks you want me share so that it would inspire me to do this more often. <3
