Tuesday Tip - Making Your Makeup Last Longer for the Summer...Aside from Primer and Setting Spray

WHO'S EXCITED FOR SUMMER??

Hi guys! So I have been thinking on how to filter my blog post and these are the things that I have came up with:

So if you want to see what I have in store for you everyday, you can visit my blog. I will try my best to write a blog post everyday since I am always traveling from different places to the other. If I won't be able to do so, I can do two posts in day to save the extra day but then again, I am really excited to make some posts for you guys because that would mean that I have to do different kinds of makeup looks and blog post ideas.

Making your makeup last a long time can be a little tricky when you live in a tropical country. In my case, I live in the Philippines when it tends to get hotter and hotter every single day. These tips works for me so I'm not saying these are the right things to do but let me know if you find this helpful. xD

"Wait, what? No primer?...Or even a setting spray?" I never said no primer and setting spray (I said aside from...haha) but you can definitely skip that step. This is for an everyday look so you can definitely use primer when you are attending an event. In fact, in my experience, during the day primer tends to be really heavy on the skin and too much layer will only make your makeup look cakey if applied too much. Breathe skin, breathe!

Tip # 1

LAYERING YOUR MAKEUP PROPERLY

Layering your makeup should not be too much because layering is the key to for lasting makeup. Ever heard of light touch? You don't need to apply all your right shade liquid foundation all over your face. Only put liquid foundation to areas that needs them. Concealer is always a life saver. You can always cover your flaws with it and get it done with a powder and remember not to apply too much powder too!

Tip # 2

SKIN CARE ROUTINE

Good makeup is nothing without a clean and smooth canvas. If you are fighting over acne, find ways to treat them. Acne is an indication of any oily skin. If you have oily to combination skin, go find a complete set of skin care products that works for you. Facial wash, toner, serum then moisturizer last. In my case, the facial wash helps keep my skin clean, fresh and prepares my skin for the next product. There are different kinds of toner but mine in particular helps balance my skin's PH level which helps your skin prepares for moisturizer. Serums are optional. Mine helps fight aging. Then lastly, moisturizer. If you have oily skin it does not mean that you don't need it. Moisturizer helps the skin regains it's normal moisture and helps your skin more hydrated. As human beings, we need water. Doesn't your skin need it too? With a good skin care routine, this will help your makeup last long the entire day.

Tip #3

SAY NO TO CHEAP EYESHADOWS/EYELINERS

Let's face it. Cheap eyeshadows never last long. Unless you have an high end eye primer it could work but cheap eyeshadows never works alone. When I say cheap, poor pigmentation and low prices. Drugstore brands have comparable quality with high end ones but we still need to be carefully on choosing our eyeshadows. Also, there can be a decent eyeliners out there but pencil eyeliners does not work on your upper eyelid unless you opt to have a smokey eyeliner effect.

Tip #4

THOSE LIPS

Another challenging topic is the lips. When you eat and drink, lipstick are always the victim of going bye-bye but it does not have too. Apply powder to your lips (preferably a pressed foundation/powder one), apply your lipstick, blot it with a tissue, then apply the lipstick again. Luster or glossy lipstick are not recommended for hot summer days because going out, your hair might touch your lips and ending up having spider web lips. xD

Tip #5

TIE YOUR HAIR

Yes girl. Tie your hair. If you have long hair, tie it. It could get a little hot under your neck and sweat beholding in your face when you don't feel cool during the hot summer day. You can always use hair pins with those little baby hair suckers.

And that is how I make my face looking like this for the whole day...well, with a little touch up ofcourse.
